Canberra: Australia's aviation industry faces a significant gender gap, with women comprising only 5% of commercial pilots. To address this disparity and foster a more inclusive sector, sustainable aviation company FlyOnE has introduced a groundbreaking initiative.
Korum E, CEO and founder of FlyOnE emphasized the importance of diversity in aviation. "We believe that diversity is essential for the growth and success of the industry," E said. "By offering these scholarships, we hope to empower more women to join the aviation community and contribute to its advancement."
The scholarships are open to women of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of prior flight experience. FlyOnE aims to inspire and encourage women to pursue careers in aviation, challenging traditional stereotypes within the industry.
Scholarships
In collaboration with WAI Australia, a branch of Women in Aviation International, FlyOnE is offering two pilot training scholarships. These scholarships will cover half the cost of flight training, including ground school, flight hours, and exams up to the solo flight level. One scholarship will be awarded in Victoria and another in Western Australia.
Electric aviation experience
Successful recipients will have the unique opportunity to gain practical experience in electric aviation by flying with experienced instructors using FlyOnE's electric aircraft fleet. This exposure to cutting-edge technology will equip them with valuable skills for the future of aviation.
