Ras Al Khaimah sets two Guinness Records with NYE 2025 drones and fireworks
RAK’s drones create largest tree and seashell aerial displays
RAS AL KHAIMAH: Kicking off 2025 in spectacular fashion, Ras Al Khaimah once again cemented its reputation for unforgettable celebrations by breaking two Guinness World Records during its New Year’s Eve show.
The mesmerising display featured over 1,400 drones, setting records for the ‘Largest aerial display of a tree formed by multirotors/drones’ and the ‘Largest aerial image of a seashell formed by multirotors/drones.’
NYE celebrations in RAK
Themed "Our Story in the Sky," the event blended cutting-edge drone technology, lasers, and synchronised pyrotechnics to transform the night sky into a vivid storytelling canvas.
Depicting iconic symbols of Ras Al Khaimah’s natural beauty and cultural legacy, the display captivated global audiences while setting new standards for immersive celebrations.
The show stretched over five kilometres of the Emirate’s scenic waterfront and unfolded in three acts:
- Shifting Sands: Representing the Emirate’s rich ecosystems and timeless connection to the land.
- Mysteries of the Sea: A tribute to maritime traditions, including the art of pearl diving.
- Guiding Starlight: Celestial imagery symbolising seafaring navigation, culminating in a dazzling crescendo.
A global moment for RAK
Raki Phillips, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), expressed pride in the achievement: “These Guinness World Records reflect our innovative spirit and cultural pride. As we welcome 2025, Ras Al Khaimah continues to set benchmarks for meaningful and unforgettable experiences, celebrating both our heritage and our future.”
This marks the sixth consecutive year Ras Al Khaimah has set Guinness World Records during its New Year’s Eve celebrations, reaffirming its position as the UAE’s top destination for year-end festivities.
Over 100,000 witness the magic
More than 100,000 residents and visitors gathered to witness the spectacle from various vantage points, including beachfront resorts and the RAK New Year 2025 Festival.
