DUBAI: In an exciting development for travellers, India’s low-cost airline IndiGo has announced the launch of daily direct flights from Pune to Dubai.
This timely introduction comes just as winter travel picks up, promising to whisk passengers away to one of the UAE’s most popular destinations for both leisure and business.
Set to commence on November 22, this new route significantly enhances IndiGo's international network, providing seamless access to Dubai, a city renowned for its luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture, and vibrant culture.
With the addition of these flights, IndiGo will operate an impressive 383 average weekly flights from Pune, connecting travellers to over 25 domestic destinations and two international spots.
Why Dubai
Dubai is not only a top tourist attraction but also a vital commercial hub for Indian businesses. The introduction of direct flights is expected to spur economic growth in Pune and the broader western Maharashtra region, according to reports in Indian media. By increasing accessibility, IndiGo aims to foster new business opportunities and job prospects for those travelling between the two cities.
IndiGo’s growth
Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed his enthusiasm for the new service: “We are pleased to announce daily, non-stop direct flights between Pune and Dubai, the thriving commercial hub known for its luxury shopping and ultramodern architecture.”
With the introduction of these flights, IndiGo will now operate over 100 weekly, direct flights to Dubai from 13 cities in India, and now proudly offers a wide choice of more than 225 weekly flights into the UAE from 18 cities in India.
