Riyadh:  A vision of a rapidly expanding desert city transformed into a vibrant green oasis is quickly becoming a reality in the Saudi capital. King Salman Park, set to open in 2025, is poised to become the world's largest urban park, covering an impressive 16.6 square kilometers.

Construction is progressing rapidly, with over $1 billion in contracts awarded and a broader investment of $23 billion in Riyadh's infrastructure.

The park's strategic location, linked to several main roads and public transport stations, will ensure easy accessibility and further enhance its role as a sustainable and inclusive urban space.

As a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, King Salman Park aims to expand Riyadh's green spaces, enhance the quality of life, and contribute to a more sustainable and vibrant environment.

A haven for biodiversity

More than 11.6 square kilometers of King Salman Park will be dedicated to green spaces, planted with a million trees. This vast natural habitat will support a variety of local wildlife, including birds, butterflies, and other species.

The park's design also incorporates vertical gardens, an Islamic-style garden, and various other spaces that will enhance its aesthetic appeal and create a healthier ecosystem within Riyadh.

A sustainable urban space

King Salman Park is committed to environmental sustainability. The park's "valley" area, covering more than 800,000 square meters, will include bodies of water designed to support aquatic life and offer migratory birds a place to rest.

Additionally, the park will incorporate sustainable irrigation and water recycling systems, promoting water conservation and supporting plant life.

A community hub

Beyond its environmental benefits, King Salman Park will also serve as a dynamic community hub. It will feature a 7.2-kilometer pedestrian walkway, recreational facilities, sports complexes, cultural venues, and the Royal Art Complex, which will include a national theater, five museums, an outdoor theater, and art academies.

These amenities will encourage outdoor activities, foster a sense of community, and make the park a vibrant cultural center in Riyadh.

A landmark achievement for Riyadh

King Salman Park is a testament to Riyadh's commitment to urban development and sustainability.  As a long-term investment in the future of Riyadh, King Salman Park will play a crucial role in making the city one of the most livable in the world.
