According to the Employee Loyalty in the MENA Survey, 55 percent of employees in the UAE have remained with their current employer for over four years. This highlights the nation’s ability to foster a stable and engaging job market. Additionally, 68 percent of respondents expressed pride in their organisation’s products and services, while 54 percent actively recommend their workplace.
What’s more, 38 percent of employees stated they would prioritise long-term loyalty to their current organisation, even when offered higher salaries elsewhere. Such data reinforces the UAE’s position as a leader in employee retention and workplace satisfaction across MENA.
Fertile Ground for Entrepreneurs
The UAE’s appeal extends beyond traditional employment. Bayt.com’s Entrepreneurship in MENA Survey revealed that 39 percent of respondents aspire to be self-employed, with the UAE ranking highly as a destination due to its favourable regulatory environment and global market access.
An encouraging 46 percent of currently employed individuals are considering launching their ventures. While financial challenges remain for 55 percent of potential entrepreneurs, recent government efforts to streamline business setup have been positively received. The UAE’s focus on entrepreneurial development solidifies its reputation as a hub for innovation.
Future-ready Workforce
Bayt.com’s Future of Work in MENA study highlights the UAE’s dedication to preparing professionals for evolving job markets. More than half of the respondents feel optimistic about their career prospects, citing time management, communication, and technical skills as essential for success.
Demand for roles in technology, engineering, and healthcare is expected to rise significantly, with software engineering seeing a projected 79 percent increase in opportunities. Moreover, 65 percent of recruiters believe digital recruitment will simplify hiring processes, aligning with the UAE’s tech-driven initiatives to enhance workforce accessibility.
UAE: The Destination for Fresh Graduates
For fresh graduates, the UAE offers unmatched opportunities. The Fresh Graduates in MENA Survey indicates that 82% are satisfied with their education, and 60% are optimistic about their career prospects in the UAE. However, challenges like limited experience (40%) and market knowledge (43%) pose obstacles for newcomers.
Interestingly, 75% of graduates are open to relocating within the GCC for employment, with 60% favouring the UAE for its robust job market and supportive policies. This reflects the country’s appeal for aspiring professionals seeking a competitive edge in their fields.
Boosting Economic Growth
The UAE’s population of approximately 11 million continues to grow alongside its vibrant economy. The UAE Labour Market Observatory reports a 14.5 percent growth in companies entering the labour market from January to October 2024. This surge in business activity supports the demand for skilled professionals and reflects the government’s commitment to workforce diversity and career advancement.
