Kuwait: The Ministry of Education (MoE) Kuwait has implemented new guidelines to streamline the termination of service process for its employees while safeguarding their benefits.
The decision, issued by Undersecretary Mansour Al-Daihani, aims to address incomplete applications and ensure that employees do not lose their entitlements due to a lack of awareness.
Key points of the new guidelines include:

Retirement Verification: Employees must consult with the Public Institution for Social Security to confirm their retirement eligibility before submitting a termination request.

Submission Procedures: Requests must be submitted at the employee's workplace and approved by authorized personnel. The request must specify the termination date and be signed by the employee or their representative.

Request Date and Leave Balance: Requests cannot be submitted after the termination date, and leave balances must be accurately recorded.

File Review and Timing: Employees should review their files with the termination department to ensure they have completed the required service period. Requests should be submitted at least one month before the desired termination date.

Supplemental Benefits: Employees seeking benefits under specific laws or wishing to subscribe to optional insurance must submit electronic requests and obtain necessary approvals.

Service Period Verification: Employees on mission or study leave must ensure they complete a similar period of service upon return to avoid financial consequences.

Leave Coordination: Employees must coordinate their leaves to avoid conflicts with the termination date and obtain necessary clearances.

End-of-Service Bonus: Non-Kuwaiti employees with second contracts must submit their termination requests well in advance to avoid losing part of their end-of-service gratuity.

The MoE urges all employees to adhere to these guidelines to ensure the protection of their rights and benefits during the termination process.
