Jeddah: Residents of Hafr Al Batin in Saudi Arabia assembled in large numbers to honour Dr. Noor Mohammed Khan, the governorate’s pioneering physician who devoted over sixty years to patient care.
Dr. Khan, who passed away last week in the United States due to an undisclosed health issue, was commemorated with profound respect and sorrow.
Dr. Khan’s Legacy of Medical Advancement
Arriving in Hafr Al Batin from Pakistan in the early 1960s, Dr Khan made substantial contributions to the local healthcare system. He founded the region’s first private clinic in 1962, which eventually expanded into a comprehensive hospital offering a wide range of medical services. His significant role in enhancing local healthcare earned him Saudi citizenship in the early 1970s.
Community Remembers a Dedicated Physician
After Friday noon prayers, the community gathered at a local mosque to perform an Islamic prayer in Dr. Khan’s memory. His enduring legacy in medical service was underscored by his unwavering commitment and the support of his family, especially his sons, who continued his work.
