Exciting job opening: Pakistan consulate in Dubai seeks Trade Development Officer

DUBAI: The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Dubai is looking for a Marketing/Trade Development Officer (TDO) for its Trade and Investment Section.
This coveted position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of international trade and diplomacy while contributing to Pakistan’s economic interests in UAE and beyond.
Skills and Qualifications required
Candidates applying for the role must meet the following criteria:
- A postgraduate or graduate degree in International Trade, Business Administration, International Business, Economics, or Econometrics from a reputable institution.
- Fluency in English and/or Arabic (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- In-depth knowledge of: Market analysis and business strategy concepts; Government policies and import-export regulations; Trade and investment promotion strategies.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting trade and market research to boost Pakistan’s exports.
- Supporting trade promotions, trade diplomacy, market intelligence, and dispute resolution.
- Managing intellectual property, branding, and investment promotion initiatives.
- Analysing market trends, business mapping, and creating databases for business stakeholders.
- Liaising with local authorities to identify trade development priorities.
- Organising and participating in international trade fairs and managing business delegations.
- Preparing reports, including: Trade briefs; bilateral and multilateral programme updates; and monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans.
Terms of Contract
This position is offered on a contract basis, initially for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to three years based on performance. Recruitment will follow the Ministry of Commerce’s 2020 guidelines.
