Saudi Arabia eases visa process for Pakistanis
To facilitate tourist surge from Pakistan SA has opened facilitation offices in six different cities
Islamabad: Saudi Arabia has relaxed its visa application process for Pakistani travelers, who can now apply for a visit visa by simply submitting bank statements showing a minimum monthly credit of $750 or its equivalent.
The number of Pakistani tourists visiting Saudi Arabia rose by 43% last year, and officials are expecting this trend to continue with an estimated 2.7 million Pakistani visitors in 2024. To accommodate the surge, Saudi Arabia has opened visa facilitation offices in six major Pakistani cities: Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and Multan. These offices will provide various services related to visa acquisition.
Visitors can also book appointments online to avoid long wait times.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has introduced a transit visa for Pakistanis, allowing them to visit for up to 96 hours upon arrival via certain airlines. Additionally, travelers holding a valid UK, US, or Schengen visa can also avail themselves of the on-arrival visa option.
These relaxed visa regulations are expected to significantly boost Pakistani tourism in Saudi Arabia, enticing visitors with diverse attractions ranging from the holy cities of Macca and Madina to the bustling metropolis of Riyadh, the historical city of AlUla, and the serene landscapes of the Red Sea.
