Bangladeshi expat wins Dh20 million in Abu Dhabi’s Big Ticket draw
Dh15 million up for grabs in next grand draw
A Dubai-based Bangladeshi expat has become the latest millionaire after winning Dh20 million in the Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw.
Jahangir Alom, 44, hit the jackpot with ticket number 134468, which he purchased on February 11.
Jahangir, who has been working in Dubai’s shipbuilding industry for six years, has participated in the Big Ticket draw for the past three years. Each month, he and 14 of his friends pooled their money to buy tickets, hoping for a life-changing moment.
His patience finally paid off when his number was drawn during the live event on Monday.
“I was deep in prayer when I got the call. When I stepped outside, my friend told me the incredible news. It’s overwhelming, but what makes this win special is that it belongs to all 14 of us and our families,” said Jahangir.
Adding to the excitement, the winner of the February 3 draw, Ashik Patinharath, was invited to select the grand prize winner. Exactly a month after his own big win, Ashik pulled out Jahangir’s name – a poetic moment that made the occasion even more special.
With his share of the winnings, Jahangir dreams of starting a small business in Dubai and including his friends in the venture. "I will definitely keep buying tickets. I hope my story inspires others to take a chance and be part of this journey," he added.
More Big Ticket prizes
Big Ticket’s next grand prize draw in March will offer a Dh15 million jackpot. Additionally, 10 winners will receive Dh50,000 each during the live draw on April 3, 2025.
Customers purchasing two or more cash tickets in a single transaction between March 1 and 25 will also be entered into the Spin-the-Wheel game, where four lucky participants will win cash prizes ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh150,000. The winners’ names will be revealed on April 1 on the Big Ticket website.

For those eyeing a dream ride, Big Ticket’s March promotion includes a Range Rover Velar giveaway. The lucky winner will be announced on May 3, 2025.
