ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has issued a travel advisory for UAE nationals planning to perform Umrah during Ramadan 2025, urging them to complete necessary preparations, including vaccinations and digital registrations, to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.

Essential travel requirements

Pilgrims must secure electronic copies of passports, IDs, and other essential documents to avoid complications during their journey. The Ministry advises travellers to confirm flight schedules and hotel bookings before departure, ensuring all details align with their itinerary.

To facilitate Umrah procedures, Emiratis must register with Twajudi, a service that enables the UAE government to assist citizens in emergencies.

Additionally, they must sign up on Nusuk, the official platform for Umrah permits, to gain access to the holy sites.

Health and safety guidelines

The Ministry has emphasised the importance of vaccinations for all travellers. Pilgrims are required to obtain the seasonal flu vaccine and any other immunisations mandated by Saudi authorities. These precautions aim to protect individuals from illnesses and ensure the safety of all visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.

In case of emergencies, Emiratis can contact the Ministry’s 24/7 helpline at 0097180024, which provides immediate assistance.

Enhanced digital support

MoFA has reiterated its commitment to facilitating a seamless Umrah experience through its digital platforms, available on its official website and smartphone app. Pilgrims can access real-time updates, request emergency assistance, and find important travel resources online.

Additionally, the UAE government has enhanced services for senior citizens and people of determination, allowing family members to register them in Twajudi for prioritised assistance during their travels.

Official advisory for Umrah pilgrims

As part of its proactive measures, the Ministry encourages pilgrims to review the Umrah Pilgrim Guide, available on the MoFA website and mobile app. This guide provides key information on travel procedures, accommodation, and safety regulations.

With Ramadan expected to witness a surge in Umrah pilgrims from the UAE, the Ministry reassures travellers of its full readiness to provide support and ensure a smooth experience throughout the holy month.
