ABU DHABI: The Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) is back with a spectacular line-up for 2025, and leading the charge is none other than Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor, Andrew Garfield.
Best known for his unforgettable portrayal of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man, Garfield will appear live at the region’s premier pop culture event from 19–20 April at the ADNEC Centre.
Organised in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, MEFCC 2025 is set to deliver an immersive, star-powered weekend, and Garfield’s appearance is already generating buzz among regional and international fans alike.
With a career that spans intense dramas, award-winning theatre roles, and blockbuster franchises, Garfield’s cinematic legacy is firmly established – and now fans in the UAE can experience it up close.
Andrew Garfield: The Amazing Spider-Man
Born in Los Angeles and raised in the UK, Andrew Garfield first rose to international prominence in The Social Network (2010), where he played Eduardo Saverin. He went on to receive critical acclaim for his roles in Hacksaw Ridge (2016), which earned him an Academy Award nomination, and tick, tick… BOOM! (2021), which secured him a Golden Globe win. He has consistently pushed the boundaries of character work, with recent projects including the romance drama We Live in Time and the upcoming After The Hunt, where he stars opposite Julia Roberts under the direction of Luca Guadagnino.
Garfield’s unique portrayal of Spider-Man from 2012 to 2014 brought a fresh energy to the franchise, blending wit, vulnerability, and charm. His surprise return in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) reignited global enthusiasm for his version of the web-slinging hero. Fans now have the rare opportunity to meet the beloved star in Abu Dhabi, a city that continues to grow as a global entertainment destination.
MEFCC 2025
Andrew Garfield joins a glittering cast of international talent at MEFCC 2025. Also confirmed is Natalia Dyer, best known for her breakout role as Nancy Wheeler in Stranger Things. The Netflix series, now gearing up for its final season, has captivated audiences worldwide with its nostalgic sci-fi storytelling. Dyer’s visit comes at a pivotal moment for the show’s devoted fanbase.
Other major stars rounding out the guest list include Grant Gustin (The Flash), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars), and Emily Rudd (One Piece’s Nami). Also attending is Vincent D’Onofrio, celebrated for his commanding portrayal of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Daredevil and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the animation and voice-acting realm, Japanese icons such as Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia), Hideo Ishikawa (Itachi Uchiha from Naruto), Kotono Mitsuishi (Sailor Moon), Tetsuya Kakihara (Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail), and Kentaro Ito (Renji Abarai from Bleach) will be delighting fans across all three days of the event.
Voice talent Colleen O’Shaughnessey – known to fans as the voice of Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog – will also be joining the roster, adding to an already robust celebration of animation and gaming fandom.
Tickets
MEFCC 2025 has already sold out of its VIP ticket allocations, with only limited quantities of standard access remaining. Prices are set at Dh 150 for Friday and Sunday one-day passes, Dh 185 for Saturday, and Dh 395 for a full three-day pass.
