Dubai: In a heartening gesture that underscores the values of honesty and civic duty, Dubai Police have honoured Marion Kaljon, a tourist from Estonia, for returning a piece of gold jewellery she found at a popular tourist destination.

The General Department of Criminal Investigation recognised Kaljon’s integrity during a special ceremony. Brigadier Khalfan Obaid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, presented her with a certificate of appreciation, praising her admirable conduct and strong sense of responsibility.

“This act reflects the noble values of honesty and cooperation we aim to instill and celebrate within our community,” said Brigadier Al Jallaf.

The event was also attended by Lt. Col. Muhammad Abdulrahman, Deputy Director of the Tourist Police Department, and Captain Shehab Al Saadi, Head of the Tourist Happiness Section.

According to police officials, Kaljon promptly reported the discovery and handed the jewellery over to the Tourist Police, demonstrating commendable civic awareness and ethical behaviour.

Brigadier Al Jallaf highlighted that recognising such acts is part of Dubai Police’s broader efforts to promote positive social values, build community trust, and encourage public involvement in ensuring safety and security.

“Such stories set a powerful example for others and reinforce our shared commitment to a safe and cooperative society,” he added.
