DUBAI: Amazon UAE has announced the return of its annual ‘Iftar on Wheels’ food donation programme in partnership with the UAE Food Bank for Ramadan 2025.
Now in its fifth year, the initiative continues to support families in need across the UAE by delivering iftar meals and essential food supplies.
Since its launch in 2021, ‘Iftar on Wheels’ has distributed nearly 1.4 million meals and over 230,000 kilograms of food essentials to vulnerable communities. Building on this success, Amazon will utilise its technology, fulfilment network, and logistics expertise to ensure thousands of meals reach families on time throughout the Holy month.

Over the past four years, the programme has reached more than 37,000 beneficiaries nationwide. This large-scale effort is made possible by Amazon employees, who contribute thousands of volunteer hours each year to pack and distribute meals. In 2025, the initiative is expanding further, bringing together employees from all Amazon business units to enhance its impact.
Manal Obaid Bin Yaroof, Head of the Executive Team of the UAE Food Bank Foundation, highlighted the importance of such partnerships, stating: “At the UAE Food Bank, we believe strong partnerships are essential to achieving a hunger-free and sustainable future. Our collaboration with Amazon UAE exemplifies this belief, allowing us to significantly expand our reach and impact.”
Commitment to giving back
Stefano Martinelli, Vice President of Amazon Middle East and North Africa, reaffirmed Amazon’s dedication to social responsibility. “As the UAE begins the ‘Year of Community’, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deploy our innovation, technology and people for the good of our communities. The holy month of Ramadan is a special time, and we are proud to support thousands of families through our long-standing partnership with the UAE Food Bank.”
Abeer Mohamed, Human Resources Specialist at Amazon UAE, shared her personal experience of volunteering for the programme. “Generosity and a shared sense of solidarity are at the heart of Emirati culture, and this initiative allows me to give back to the community. I am proud to be part of a company that values making a real difference.”
As part of its ongoing efforts to combat food insecurity, Amazon UAE continues to collaborate with community partners, using its operational expertise to ensure meals reach those in need efficiently. With Ramadan 2025 underway, the ‘Iftar on Wheels’ programme is set to provide even greater support to families across the UAE.
