Dubai:  The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has introduced two digital medical education platforms at Gitex Technology Week. DARB, which stands for "Dynamic and Resourceful Bridge," is to provide resident doctors with comprehensive academic support. The second programme, MANAAR – which stands for Medical Augmentation and Nourishment Anytime and Anywhere Resource – shall offer “complete online support” to medical professionals and healthcare providers.

As the principal regulatory body in the healthcare sector, the DHA is entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing and improving the quality of healthcare provision in Dubai.

DARB

Initially covering five specialisations and over 60% of residents, DARB is set to expand to additional specialisations and fellowship programs within the next two years.

MANAAR

Under the MANAAR platform, all healthcare providers across the UAE [United Arab Emirates] can create an account and benefit from the interactive learning system that will train, access the knowledge of healthcare professionals and will give them access to many other accredited training programs conducted in Dubai,” said the DHA.

Significance

Dr. Wadeia Mohammad Sharief, Director of the DHA’s Medical Education and Research Department, commented on the initiative’s significance: “Ongoing medical education is essential. We are excited to provide a powerful digital learning platform that supports the continuous growth of medical students and practitioners.”
