The introduction of these flights follows a successful trial period when PIA first launched direct services in August 2023, coinciding with Pakistan’s Independence Day. Given the overwhelming demand and positive feedback from passengers, PIA decided to make this service a permanent fixture.

Skardu International Airport has evolved into a vital link for the region, having been designated as an international airport in December 2021. The strategic resumption of flights from Dubai not only facilitates travel for tourists but also strengthens ties for the large Pakistani diaspora residing in the UAE.
