DUBAI: The Emirates Dubai 7s organisers have revealed the full pools and match schedule for both the men’s and women’s rugby tournaments at the first round of the HSBC Sevens World Series (SVNS) 2025.

Taking place on the 30th of November and 1st of December, The Sevens Stadium will host the world’s best rugby sevens teams, marking their first clash since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The tournament promises to be an exciting return to action after the record-breaking success of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where over 530,000 fans attended the rugby sevens events, with millions more watching globally.

On Saturday, matches will be held on Pitches 1 and 2, with the top two teams in each pool, along with the two best third-placed sides, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Fans can expect fierce competition in the first rugby 7s tournament since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with top teams battling it out in Dubai this November and December.

Sunday will see the cup finals, with the women’s final at 19:35 and the men’s final at 20:11, before global music sensation Stormzy wraps up the weekend with a performance at 21:30. 

From Family Friday to the finals and major performances, the Emirates Dubai 7s promises an action-packed weekend, including top rugby action and world-class entertainment.

Women’s Tournament

The action kicks off for the women at 9:00 am on Saturday, 30th November, with newly crowned Olympic champions New Zealand taking on Brazil on Pitch 2, while the silver medallists, Canada, face Japan on Pitch 1. Other notable matches include a highly anticipated repeat of the Olympic final between New Zealand and Canada at 16:07, followed by France facing Olympic bronze medallists, the USA, at 16:51. Australia will also play Ireland at 17:35.

Men’s Tournament

The men’s tournament begins at 10:06 am with the All Blacks taking on the USA, followed by a thrilling South American encounter at 10:28 am between 2023/2024 Series League Winners, Argentina, and resilient Uruguay. At 10:50 am, South Africa, who have won the Emirates Dubai 7s three times in a row, will face Australia. The final round of the pool phase on Day 1 will see a gripping showdown between Fiji and the All Blacks, with Argentina facing Ireland at 19:28 and Olympic champions France taking on South Africa at 20:44.

Fans can also look forward to a special musical performance from the Sugababes at the ‘Rugby Rocks’ stage, offering an exciting end to Day 1.

Beyond the elite rugby action, the Emirates Dubai 7s will feature 16 rugby tournaments, six netball competitions, two cricket tournaments, three fitness tournaments, and six padel tennis competitions, all attracting nearly 6,500 athletes. In addition, spectators can attend sporting masterclasses conducted by professional sports ambassadors from the worlds of rugby and cricket.

Tickets for the event are available from Dh425 for a day pass or Dh550 for a weekend pass. Friday is free for all, and children under 4 years old can enter for free all weekend. Tickets for People of Determination are priced at Dh325, which includes a carer.
