DUBAI: flydubai and Batik Air Malaysia have jointly announced a new interline agreement, creating a streamlined travel experience for passengers.

This partnership will give flydubai customers access to over 40 new destinations on Batik Air’s network via Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).

The expanded network spans key destinations such as Hanoi, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Osaka, and Sydney.

The agreement allows passengers to book flights seamlessly between the two carriers, with a single ticket covering all legs of their journey and the added benefit of through-checked baggage.

Expansive travel options

flydubai customers now have the opportunity to explore an expanded network in Southeast Asia, reaching destinations across Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and Australia. The agreement also allows Batik Air passengers to enjoy easy connectivity to flydubai’s 38 destinations across Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Europe, the GCC, and the Middle East.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, expressed optimism about the partnership: “We are pleased to add Batik Air to our growing list of partners, offering their passengers a smooth travel experience on a young and modern fleet, with our great service and enhanced cabin interior, as they explore our growing network. We look forward to offering our passengers more opportunities to explore Southeast Asia and beyond, and we remain committed to creating free flows of trade and tourism and supporting Dubai’s position as a thriving aviation hub.”

Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Batik Air, noted the significance of this step, emphasising that the agreement “marks a significant step forward in expanding travel possibilities for valued passengers."

Benefits for passengers

Passengers benefit from simplified ticketing and baggage processes, as well as streamlined transfers between flights at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The partnership is expected to create more options for both leisure and business travellers looking for diverse routes across Asia and the Middle East. This interline agreement enhances convenience for passengers from both airlines by providing smoother connections and a more comprehensive range of travel options.

Booking made easy

Tickets for the expanded routes on flydubai and Batik Air’s combined network can be booked directly through the airlines’ websites or authorised travel agents. The interline arrangement simplifies the booking experience, enabling customers to make a single booking for their entire journey.
