flydubai starts flight to Basel
This marks the start of the carrier’s four-times-weekly service to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) from Dubai International
Dubai-based airline flydubai has made history by becoming the first UAE national carrier to operate direct flights between Dubai and Basel. The inaugural flight landed at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg on August 7, 2024.
This new route will operate four times a week, further strengthening Flydubai’s presence in Europe. With the addition of Basel, the airline now serves a total of 29 destinations across the continent.
Expanding Connectivity
Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-commerce at Flydubai, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm for the new route. "We are delighted to add Basel to our growing network in Europe," he said. "EuroAirport serves a tri-border region encompassing Switzerland, France, and Germany, making it a vital hub for travel, trade, and tourism."
Efendi also highlighted the benefits for passengers traveling from Europe to Dubai and beyond. "Through Dubai’s aviation hub, travelers from Basel can conveniently connect to popular holiday destinations such as Kenya, the Maldives, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand," he added.
This latest expansion underscores Flydubai's commitment to connecting underserved markets and facilitating seamless travel for its customers.
