Muscat: Muscat International Airport is set to elevate its global stature with the addition of six new international airlines in 2024. This exciting expansion marks a transformative moment, boosting passenger traffic and cementing Oman’s role as a vital regional hub.
Following a successful 2023, which saw five new airlines join - two from Europe - this year’s spotlight is on boosting direct flights from European destinations to Oman. Al Hosni emphasized the airport’s proactive approach to scouting new markets and expanding direct flight options through both the national carrier and other airlines.
Expanding horizons, connecting the world
With 36 airlines already in its network, Muscat International Airport connects Oman to over 80 global destinations. This expansion highlights the airport’s crucial role in shaping global connectivity and reinforces Oman’s emerging status as a central player in international travel.
