Dubai: The UAE will host the biggest ever Pakistan Independence Day celebrations in Dubai on August 11.
The festivities spanning over 12-hour, are set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is expected to draw approximately 15,000 people. This vibrant celebration will feature an array of cultural performances, musical shows, and traditional activities, reflecting the rich heritage and significant contributions of the Pakistani community to the UAE's development.
Key figures
The grand celebrations being organised by the ‘Emirates Loves Pakistan’ page in collaboration with Pakistan Association in Dubai (PAD) will see 12-hours of cultural and musical extraganza.
According to the UAE Government Media Office, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence will be the chief guest. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan; Hussain Mohammed, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai along with diplomats and prominent figures from the Pakistani community will also attend.
Famous singers
Famous Pakistani singers Shehzad Roy and and Hadiya Hashmi will perform during the day and at night while famous musical band Khumariyaan will also perform at the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Sports celebrities including famous cricketer Shahid Afridi and squash lagend Jahangir Khan will also attend the event.
The celebrations highlight the enduring friendship and deep-rooted ties between the UAE and Pakistan.
Jashen-e-Azadi
The event named ‘Jashen-e-Azadi Pakistan (Pakistan Independence celebrations) will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre and expected to be attended by around 15,000 people, included a vibrant program featuring cultural performances, musical shows, and traditional activities that showcased the rich heritage and contributions of the Pakistani community to the UAE’s development.
The celebration demonstrates the UAE’s dedication to fostering international cooperation and promoting tolerance. It also showcases the UAE’s success in creating a harmonious environment where diverse cultures coexist peacefully.
The UAE and Pakistan share a longstanding relationship, strengthened since the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan laid its foundation in 1971. Today, these ties are stronger than ever, driven by strategic partnerships and expanding economic cooperation.
The UAE is Pakistan’s top trading partner and largest investor, recently committing $10 billion to promising economic sectors in Pakistan.

Ready for the event
Dr Faisal Ikram, President of Pakistan Association in Dubai, said that he is greatful to Emirates Loves Pakistan for organizing this grand Pakistan Independence Day event. “We are fully ready with our preparations. The event will showcase cultural of Pakistan’s different region, art exhibitions, traditions food stalls, Pakistani wedding, folk shows and much more.”
Community parade
Abu Bakar Imtiaz, Director PR at PAD, said the event will start with the community parade. “Thousands of people representing all the provinces of Pakistan clad in their traditional clothes will parade in the World Trade Centre halls highlighting our traditions and culture,” he added.
Dr Ikram said that the activities will continue throughout the day starting from 11am to 11pm.
“We expect community to participate in big numbers but they must register first to ensure entry to the venue,” he said.
