UAE merchants can now accept payments with ‘Tap to Pay’ on iPhone
New tech solution boosts customer experience and drives sales for businesses
DUBAI: UAE retailers can now accept payments using Tap to Pay on iPhone, a new solution launched by Magnati and Network International.
This allows businesses to process a variety of contactless payments, including credit, debit, and prepaid cards, as well as Apple Pay and other digital wallets.
Merchants only need an iPhone and the SwipeX or N-Genius One app, eliminating the need for additional hardware or payment terminals.
How ‘Tap to Pay’ works
The process is straightforward. Merchants simply prompt customers to hold their contactless payment method near the iPhone, and the transaction is securely processed via NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
The system uses the iPhone’s built-in security features, ensuring that both merchant and customer data remain secure. Notably, Apple does not store card or transaction information on the device or its servers.

Nishit Doshi, Managing Director at Magnati, noted that contactless payments have become the norm in the UAE, with over 95% of transactions now conducted this way. Tap to Pay on iPhone aims to provide an efficient solution that enhances sales and offers customers greater choice and convenience.
How to get started
Merchants with an iPhone XS or later model running the latest iOS version can download the SwipeX or N-Genius One app from the Apple App Store.
After a brief digital onboarding process, they can immediately enable Tap to Pay and begin accepting payments.
