WATCH: Dubai biker caught performing deadly stunts on city roads
Police identify motorist despite attempts to mask identity and evade capture

DUBAI: A young biker has been summoned by Dubai Police following the circulation of viral videos showing him engaging in life-threatening stunts on city roads.
The videos, widely shared on social media, captured the individual overtaking vehicles at excessive speeds and performing hazardous manoeuvres, including riding without using the handlebars.
Authorities confirmed these acts represented a flagrant violation of traffic laws and posed grave risks to both the biker and other road users.
Major General Saif Mahir Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commandant for Operations at Dubai Police, confirmed that the videos showed the same individual using two different motorcycles across separate incidents. "In one video, he was seen weaving dangerously between cars, while in another, he completely removed his hands from the handlebars," Al Mazrouei noted. He added that these acts demonstrated an alarming disregard for road safety and public welfare.
High-tech pursuit
Efforts to identify the offender were initially hampered by attempts to disguise both his identity and the features of the motorcycles. However, Dubai Police deployed advanced technologies and assigned a specialised team to track him down. “Despite his efforts to conceal himself, our teams successfully identified and apprehended him using sophisticated security tools and tactical expertise,” Al Mazrouei stated.
The motorcycle has since been impounded under Decree No. 30 of 2023, which mandates a Dh50,000 release fee for such violations. This move is part of the broader clampdown on dangerous driving behaviours across the UAE.
Legal consequences
The individual has now been referred to the relevant legal authorities. According to Dubai Police, more than 80 percent of individuals involved in similar offences have been linked to serious traffic accidents resulting in fatalities or severe injuries. Al Mazrouei stressed the department’s zero-tolerance approach to such violations, reiterating the need for strict legal consequences to prevent future occurrences.
Authorities have urged the public to play a role in maintaining road safety by reporting reckless behaviours through the “Police Eye” feature on the Dubai Police app or via the “We Are All Police” hotline at 901. Al Mazrouei reaffirmed that public safety remains a top priority and that every effort will be made to hold violators accountable under the law.
