Oman: Dhofar Autumn Season 2024 which kicked off on June 21 will extend for 90 days until September 20, offers a a variety of global events set amidst Dhofar’s picturesque landscapes and delightful climate.
Extending the event duration to 90 days this year promises an even richer experience, with expanded venues, diverse activities, and enhanced services jointly provided by governmental bodies and private sectors.
The emphasis is on creating a distinct journey for every visitor, bolstered by a wide array of cultural, commercial, and recreational offerings across Dhofar’s locales.
His Highness Sayyid Marwan Bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar underscored tourism's vital role in Dhofar's economy, fostering local entrepreneurship and sustainability initiatives. This season, efforts focus on enhancing tourist sites, from natural wonders to coastal vistas and historic springs, ensuring an unforgettable visitor experience.
Dr. Ahmed Bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar Municipality, detailed this year's lineup spanning environmental stewardship and public health initiatives to youth engagement and cultural showcases, each facet promises discoveries and memorable moments.
Ammar Bin Oubed Ghawas, Director of Events and Awareness at Dhofar Municipality, highlighted the season’s vibrant program, featuring diverse sports competitions, global theatrical performances, and interactive children’s activities.
New attractions like Etten Square and the upgraded theatre promise exhilarating entertainment, while sports enthusiasts can anticipate the Salalah International Cycling Tour and the thrilling Dhofar International Drag Race Championship.
In the cultural realm, the Awdat Al-Madhi village beckons with its immersive displays of Dhofar’s diverse environments and traditional markets, hosting cultural exchanges with other Omani Wilayas. Additionally, Dhofar will debut the prestigious Dhofar International Theater Festival, positioning itself as a global hub for theatrical excellence.
As direct flights to Salalah Airport increase from Gulf countries, Dhofar Province anticipates surpassing one million visitors this year, solidifying its status as a premier global tourist destination renowned for its natural beauty and dynamic cultural offerings.
