Abu Dhabi has once again made history, officially entering the Guinness World Records with the largest-ever aerial display combining fireworks and drones.

The awe-inspiring performance illuminated the night sky during the Gala Dinner Ceremony at the 4th ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium 2025, held from 10 to 12 February.

The meticulously choreographed show featured 1,000 drones moving in perfect harmony, creating intricate patterns across the sky. Among them, 300 drones formed dazzling rings, while 152 fireworks erupted in a breathtaking fusion of light and colour.

The display, a masterpiece of precision and safety, showcased cutting-edge aviation technology at its finest.

GCAA’s vision takes flight

Orchestrated by the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the event underscored the country’s leadership in aviation, innovation, and airspace management. More than just a visual spectacle, it was a testament to the UAE’s commitment to technological advancement and pushing the boundaries of aerial entertainment.

A city of record-breaking feats

Abu Dhabi’s latest achievement adds to its growing list of world records. The UAE capital was recently named the safest city in the world for 2025, reinforcing its reputation for security and quality of life.

Previously, during the Sheikh Zayed Festival's New Year 2024 celebrations, Abu Dhabi set four Guinness World Records with a 40-minute fireworks display and a drone show featuring over 5,000 drones.
