Dubai:  South Korea's Asan Medical Center (AMC) and UAE’s Scope Investment have collaborated to build the UAE Gastroenterology Hospital at Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2. The partnership is being hailed as the dawn of a new era in specialized medical care that would redefine gastroenterological healthcare in the region.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key dignitaries including His Excellency Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi of the Dubai Health Authority and His Excellency Moon Byung Jun, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai. 

Scheduled for completion by 2026, the hospital aims to bolster the UAE's healthcare capabilities with cutting-edge services in digestive health, gastrointestinal oncology, and liver transplantation management.

Building the future of healthcare in Dubai

Issam Galadari, CEO of Dubai Healthcare City Authority (DHCA), highlighted the hospital's role in expanding Dubai’s healthcare offerings. "The Asan – UAE Gastroenterology Hospital is pivotal in our mission to attract global healthcare leaders," he affirmed, emphasizing its role in fortifying DHCC’s position as a hub for specialized medical care.

State-of-the-art facilities and specialized care

Spanning 21,150 square meters across seven floors, the hospital will feature 65 beds, including royal and VIP accommodations, alongside advanced facilities such as four operating theatres and comprehensive care units for both adults and children. Specialized services will encompass endoscopy, bariatrics, and advanced treatments in gastrointestinal health.

Educational excellence and community impact

AMC’s commitment extends beyond clinical care to education, aiming to elevate local healthcare standards by training medical professionals across the Middle East. Dr. Soo-Sung Park of Asan Medical Centre highlighted their focus on minimally invasive procedures and preventive care to ensure optimal patient outcomes and overall digestive health.
