Dubai Fitness Challenge 2024, Week 3: Here’s your guide to all the free activities
Inspiring all ages with a 30-minute daily exercise goal
DUBAI: The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) enters its third week, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy free activities, fitness hubs, and community events designed to promote a healthy, active lifestyle across Dubai.
With the goal of completing 30 minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days, the challenge is helping participants of all ages and abilities engage in a transformative fitness journey.
At the heart of DFC are three main fitness villages – Kite Beach, Zabeel Park, and Al Warqa’a Park – each packed with fitness classes, workshops, and family-friendly events. Each village has its own unique offerings, from sports courts and yoga zones to activities for kids and specialised areas for women.
“This is more than just exercise; it’s about building community through fitness,” said a DFC spokesperson.
Fitness villages
The DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village, located on Dubai’s iconic coastline, invites people to enjoy diverse activities like dance, parkour, tai chi, and spin classes. The village, open on weekdays from 3 PM to 11 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 11 PM, is a popular spot for residents and tourists alike.
Over at the Dubai Municipality Zabeel Park Fitness Village, visitors can experience group classes, a running club, and family-focused events, with timings running from 4 PM to midnight on weekends.
Meanwhile, the RTA Al Warqa’a Park Fitness Village caters to cyclists and runners with a 75-bike cycling hub, sports courts, and a dedicated ladies-only area. All three fitness villages encourage participants to share their experiences on social media using #ShareYour30.
Community Hubs
Beyond the main villages, DFC has launched numerous Community Hubs across Dubai. These hubs offer fitness right in neighbourhoods, with options ranging from calming yoga sessions to high-energy mountain hikes.
The Athletic Caravan Initiative Fitness Hub at Dubai Festival City, open daily from 8 AM to 11 AM and 5 PM to 10 PM, features sports tournaments, wellness activities, and healthy food options – perfect for a family day out.
Danube Sports World, located on Al Meydan Road, offers daily indoor sports activities for all ages, from padel and basketball to football and cricket, encouraging participants to challenge themselves and stay active.
Thrilling events
Throughout Week Three, DFC participants can test their limits in various events, such as the T100 Triathlon from 16 to 17 November, which includes a 2km swim, 80km bike ride, and 18km run.
Those seeking a different type of challenge can join the Sparkle Cycle 2024 at Al Qudra Cycle Track from 15 to 16 November. This charity event supports the Sparkle Foundation’s work in Malawi, offering participants a chance to combine fitness with a philanthropic goal.
The Music Run on 16 November at Meydan Racecourse also offers a unique fitness experience with a 5km course set to high-energy music, where participants of all levels can enjoy running to a beat.
Emirates NBD Unity Run
The Emirates NBD Unity Run on 17 November at Expo City’s Al Forsan Park champions inclusion by inviting all abilities to join either a 3km walk, or a 5km or 10km run. Celebrating its seventh edition, the event provides a celebratory finish line atmosphere with live entertainment, food, and more, fostering unity and a spirit of determination.
