Dubai Municipality has awarded contracts worth Dh1.439 billion as part of the Tasreef project, aimed at expanding and upgrading the emirate’s stormwater drainage network.
The works will add over 36km of new drainage lines in critical areas such as Al Quoz, Jumeirah, and near Dubai International Airport.
Designed to mitigate flooding, the system will eventually boost discharge capacity by 700 percent over the next 100 years.
Tasreef, with a total estimated cost of Dh30 billion, is Dubai’s largest and most efficient unified stormwater system, focusing on sustainable, scalable infrastructure aligned with future urban planning goals.
