KARACHI: A total of 131 Pakistani nationals have been deported from 12 countries within the past 48 hours, with reasons ranging from drug-related crimes and illegal entry to job abandonment.

According to reports in local media, Saudi Arabia led the list, expelling 74 Pakistanis for drug peddling and leaving jobs without prior notice.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) followed, deporting multiple individuals over visa violations, theft, and drug-related offences.

Crackdown on illegal migration

In an ongoing crackdown, Qatar, Turkey, Oman, Cambodia, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and Mexico also deported Pakistani nationals for immigration law violations. Additionally, two individuals accused of human smuggling were sent back from Mauritania and Senegal.

Among the deported, 16 individuals were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, while six others are under police investigation in Larkana, Kalat, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, and Rawalpindi.

US deportations

In a separate development, multiple Pakistani nationals were also deported from the United States as part of a broader crackdown on illegal immigration. US authorities repatriated them on a chartered flight, along with individuals from Afghanistan, China, and Uzbekistan.
