WATCH: ‘DD-5’ leads Dubai’s Most Noble Number Auction for Fathers’ Endowment
Bidders to compete for 25 exclusive number plates and mobile numbers
DUBAI: The highly anticipated Most Noble Number charity auction returns to Dubai tomorrow (March 15), offering an exclusive selection of distinguished vehicle number plates and premium mobile numbers.
Organised by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in collaboration with Emirates Auction, the event will take place at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa.
Proceeds from the auction will support the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, a philanthropic initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
The campaign aims to provide healthcare assistance to those in need while honouring fathers and their contributions to society.
Exclusive bidding opportunities
This year’s auction will showcase 25 exclusive numbers, including five special vehicle number plates, 10 Etisalat by e& mobile numbers, and 10 du mobile numbers.
Among the standout listings is the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) special vehicle plate ‘DD-5’, a rare and sought-after number set to attract high bids. Other unique vehicle number plates up for auction include DD-77, DD-24, DD-15, and DD-12.
Additionally, high-value mobile numbers such as 0500777777, 0500999999, and 0565000000 from Etisalat by e& will be on offer. du will auction numbers including 0584444440, 0584444444, and 0584444449, adding further prestige to the event. Interested bidders can participate in person or via the Emirates Auction app.
Fathers’ Endowment campaign
The auction’s proceeds will be directed toward the Fathers’ Endowment campaign, which is dedicated to establishing an endowment fund to finance medical treatments for underprivileged individuals. The initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of community support and generosity, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare and philanthropy.
Since its inception, the Most Noble Number charity auction has raised significant funds for humanitarian causes. The 2024 edition generated Dh38.095 million in support of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, which focused on funding educational initiatives. In previous years, the auction contributed to landmark projects such as the 1 Billion Meals Endowment campaign, which aimed to combat hunger worldwide, raising Dh97.92 million in 2023.
Most Noble Number auction
Since its launch in 2021, the Most Noble Number auction has seen strong participation from high-profile philanthropists and business leaders. The first edition alone raised Dh50.45 million, contributing to the success of the 100 Million Meals campaign. Over the years, it has become a key fundraising event during Ramadan, further solidifying its role in supporting charitable initiatives.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, emphasised the significance of this year’s auction, stating, “We are honoured to participate in the Fathers’ Endowment campaign and contribute to this noble initiative. Over the past four editions, RTA’s dedicated number plates have helped raise Dh213 million, supporting various charitable causes across the region.”
The auction is expected to attract business tycoons, philanthropists, and collectors eager to own exclusive number plates and mobile numbers while contributing to a noble cause. With a proven track record of success and a commitment to humanitarian efforts, the Most Noble Number charity auction continues to be a landmark event in Dubai’s philanthropic calendar.
Donations towards the Fathers’ Endowment campaign can also be made through the official campaign website FathersFund.ae, via bank transfer to Emirates Islamic Bank (IBAN: AE020340003518492868201), or through SMS donations by sending the word "Father" to designated numbers for contributions ranging from Dh10 to Dh500. Additionally, contributions can be made via the DubaiNow app and Dubai’s community contributions platform Jood.ae.
