Dubai:  Since its launch in March 2023, following United’s groundbreaking commercial pact with Emirates the route between Dubia and New York/Newark has facilitated travel for over 180,000 passengers and transported more than 3,000 tons of cargo.

This achievement coincides with United Airline's position as the sole U.S. airline offering nonstop connectivity between Dubai and the United States, with a broader network across the Middle East than any other American carrier

Connecting passengers across continents

Nearly one-third of United's U.S.-bound travelers to Dubai have continued their journeys with Emirates or flydubai, reaching over 85 destinations in 40 countries.

Popular connecting destinations include India, Maldives, Nepal, Mauritius, and Tanzania. On the flip side, over half of passengers flying from Dubai to New York/Newark have utilized United's Newark hub for onward travel within the Americas. Top choices include Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, and Washington D.C.

United and Emirates: A partnership with benefits

The collaboration between United and Emirates offers additional advantages for loyalty program members.  United MileagePlus members can accrue and redeem miles when traveling onward to select Emirates destinations in Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. Similarly, Emirates Skywards members can earn miles on United-operated flights. Passengers booked on United PolarisSM can also access Emirates lounges when traveling on, or connecting to, and from, United's Dubai service.

Celebrating success: A milestone for both airlines and Dubai Airports

Thorsten Lettnin, United's Director of Sales for Continental Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, and Israel, expressed his pride in the achievement.  He highlighted the expanded travel options for passengers in both regions and the seamless connections facilitated through the partnership with Emirates and Flydubai.

Dubai Airports' Vice President of Research, Rob Whitehouse, congratulated United on the successful first year of operation.  He emphasized the significance of the route in solidifying Dubai International Airport's (DXB) position as a premier global hub, bridging the gap between Dubai and the United States.
