WATCH | UAE launches 10-year Blue Residency Visa

DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has launched the first phase of its 10-year Blue Residency Visa, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at recognising individuals who have made significant contributions to environmental sustainability. The announcement was made at the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai.

Twenty environmental innovators and thought leaders will be the first recipients of the visa, which is granted to experts in climate action, sustainability, and environmental protection. Eligible candidates include members of international organisations, global award winners, activists, researchers, and investors in green initiatives.

The Blue Visa extends the UAE’s long-term residency programs, following the introduction of the Golden and Green Visas. Applications can be submitted via the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) website, with 24/7 access available for qualifying individuals.

This move aligns with the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, reinforcing its position as a global leader in environmental conservation and innovation.
