Dubai: With Eid Al Adha expected to begin on 16 June, Emirates will mark the occasion with traditional dishes onboard, new Arabic movies and TV series on ice, and handmade sweet treats made by beloved Emirati artisan bakers – Home Bakery.

From the 16-19 June, customers in all classes on select routes will receive an Eid sweet treat, handmade by homegrown UAE business Home Bakery, from pistachio cakes to irresistible chewy melt cookies in a bespoke Emirates Eid giftbox. Founded by Emirati entrepreneur, Hind Almulla, Home Bakery has been an established favourite in Dubai for more than a decade, with a reputation for mouthwatering dessert and cake recipes.

Economy Class customers onboard Emirates will be treated to the flavoursome favourites of Eid including lamb tagine with apricot, potatoes, couscous and white sesame seeds, chicken kebab khashkhash in tomato sauce with peppers and orange rice garnished with almonds, or Daoud basha, the Lebanese-style chicken meatballs served with vermicelli rice. Eid themed desserts include a pistachio cake topped with butter cream and pistachio sauce, or a decadent coffee cake with chocolate mousse, drizzled in Arabica sauce. 

Premium Economy and Business Class customers can sample traditional lamb chermoula in Moroccan spiced sauce, served with saffron rice, roasted vegetables and harissa, or dishes like beef foga -braised beef short ribs in Emirati spices, served with steamed rice and potatoes, or prawn morbian with tomatoes, onions, and aromatic rice topped with toasted pine nuts. Desserts will include a pistachio and chocolate nammoura cake and a white chocolate and rahash mousse cake with toasted sesame seeds.

First Class customers can experience crafted dishes like grilled chicken served with sumac lemon dressing, roasted potatoes and baked vegetables, or lamb madfoon - the classic roasted lamb steak in traditional spices with vegetables and fragrant rice. Eid desserts will include honey and white chocolate cake, with a dash of crème anglaise, or a rich walnut baklawa cake served with kashta. In the A380 onboard lounge, a selection of Emirati pastries and Arabic coffee await First and Business Class customers.

For those travelling over Eid Al Adha, Emirates award-winning ice offers up to 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment including favourites from Shahid and MBC. Customers can choose from more than 2000 movies from around the world, including 100+ Arabic films, with new movies added this month including - 5 Mohi El Din Abu El Ezz, Bahebek, Fadel We Neama, Hajjan, Souad, Thanya Wahda.

There are also up to 290 Hollywood movies with Arabic subtitles including new releases Bob Marley: One Love, Land of Bad, Madame Web and The Beekeeper. There are 50 channels of Arabic TV series including Aa Amal, Sold Out-Comedy, Al Uqubat and several anticipated series from Shahid including Rose & Layla, Thanawiyyat Al Naseem and Batn El Hout. Emirates customers can also enjoy 15 channels of Arabic podcasts and audiobooks, The Holy Qur’an, and more than 500 channels of Arabic music including pop, classics, Khaleeji, Maghrebi and Arabic fusion.
