Free entry to a month-long celebration of food, music, and creativity at Yas Bay
Ramadan in Abu Dhabi is set to shine even brighter with the return of Waterfront Nights, the annual pop-up market at Yas Bay Waterfront.
Running from 15 March to 1 April 2025, this highly anticipated event offers a blend of shopping, entertainment, and cultural experiences, all free to attend.
With an array of local brands, live performances, and engaging activities, the event promises something for everyone, making it a must-visit destination this Ramadan.
Night Market
At the heart of Waterfront Nights is its bustling night market, featuring 26 homegrown brands. Of these, 23 are backed by the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, supporting Emirati entrepreneurs. Shoppers can browse through an eclectic mix of apparel, accessories, perfumes, and artwork from brands such as Classy & Elegant Couture, Tebra, MZ Stickers, 90s Aoud, and Woud.
Beyond fashion and accessories, the market boasts a vibrant food scene. Emirati specialties like luqaimat, khameer, and chebab will be served at Rqaq House, while The Lions offers Egyptian delicacies such as koshari and mahshi. International snacks, including ramen and slushies, will also be available.
To add an exciting twist, shoppers who spend Dh100 or more will be entered into a raffle draw. Lucky winners stand a chance to win a Gold Yas Annual Pass or Dh1,000 worth of dining vouchers redeemable at Yas Bay Waterfront outlets. Winners will be announced during Eid celebrations.
Workshops and cultural activities
A series of free workshops invites visitors to immerse themselves in traditional Islamic arts. The Islamic Geometric Art workshop teaches participants how to create intricate patterns using sustainable materials, while the Arabic Calligraphy session provides hands-on guidance in crafting personalised calligraphy pieces under the expertise of seasoned calligraphers.
Workshops are open to all skill levels and will run in 45-minute sessions every evening from 8 PM onwards, offering a unique way to engage with the artistic traditions of the region.
Live entertainment
Adding to the Ramadan atmosphere, the event features captivating live performances, including traditional Hakawati storytelling sessions. These sessions, led by expert storytellers, bring Arabic folk tales to life, offering audiences a glimpse into the region’s rich oral traditions.
Music lovers can enjoy performances by skilled Oud and Qanun musicians, who will play soothing melodies every hour, creating an enchanting ambience throughout the market. For families, the Kids’ Corner offers face painting, electric bikes, and arts and crafts, while the Gaming Area provides a space for friendly competition in carrom, chess, dominoes, and tawla.
Eid celebrations and fireworks
As Ramadan draws to a close, Waterfront Nights will extend its operating hours during Eid, opening from 4 PM to 10 PM. The celebrations will reach their peak with a grand fireworks display over Yas Bay Waterfront, illuminating the night sky in a dazzling spectacle.
