Emirates NBD unveils 7th Unity Run to celebrate inclusivity in Dubai
Annual event highlights inclusion of people of determination at Expo City
DUBAI: The seventh edition of the Emirates NBD Unity Run, a prominent community event promoting inclusion for people of determination, will take place on Sunday, 17 November 2024, at Expo City Dubai.
Organised under the Patronage of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event is part of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Community Sports Initiative and aligns with Dubai's vision for accessibility and inclusivity.
Inclusive challenges for all abilities
Participants of all ages and abilities can choose between a 3 km fun walk/run, or opt for timed 5 km and 10 km races.
Spot prizes, trophies for top runners, and finisher certificates ensure an engaging and rewarding experience for everyone.
Beyond the race, attendees can explore the Emirates NBD Unity Run Village, offering food stalls, arts and crafts displays, and a chill-out zone for a memorable community gathering.
Support for People of Determination
Proceeds from the event will benefit Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination, Senses Residential and Day Care Centre for Special Needs, and Beit Al Khair Society. These organisations work towards empowering children and young people with special needs through education and rehabilitation.
Promoting Awareness and Social Impact
Vijay Bains, Emirates NBD's Chief Sustainability Officer, shared: "We are pleased to continue our longstanding support for the Unity Run, a community programme encouraging everyone in the UAE to come together to support the advocacy of diversity and inclusion. As part of our long-term commitment to the inclusion of people of determination, we are proud to be associated with an initiative that unites individuals from diverse backgrounds to support a common cause."
Bains also highlighted the event’s growing popularity, adding, “Each year, we see an overwhelming response with thousands participating in the event and are confident that this year will also see strong support from the UAE community.”
A new location for 2024
Event Director Ruth Dickinson expressed enthusiasm about the new venue: “We are delighted to announce that this year’s Emirates NBD Unity Run will be held at its new location, Expo City Dubai. A beautiful venue with excellent facilities and access for people of determination and persons of all abilities.
