Visit visa

Upon approval, visitors receive a single-entry visa tailored for tourism purposes, offering flexibility with stays ranging from 30 to 60 days. Crucially, the sponsor or host in the UAE must be affiliated with a tourism-related entity, underscoring the country's commitment to fostering safe and structured travel experiences.

Key documents and steps to apply

To initiate the visa application process, travelers must provide:

  • A recent personal photo

  • Passport copy

  • Identity card (required for nationals from select countries like Iraq, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan)

  • Valid medical insurance covering stay in the UAE

  • Proof of onward travel, such as a booked itinerary or return ticket

Application procedure

Applicants can conveniently apply through digital channels via the GDRFA website or smart application, ensuring a streamlined experience. By logging in with a UAE pass or username, tourists can navigate to the visa application section, where they fill in the necessary details and complete their submission.

Updated visa fees and additional costs

Effective July 2024, the UAE has updated its visa fee structure to facilitate easier access for tourists:

  • A 30-day visa is priced at 200 dirhams, with an additional 5% VAT

  • A 60-day visa costs 300 dirhams, inclusive of VAT

For those already in the UAE, additional fees apply:

  • Knowledge Dirham: 10 dirhams
  • Innovation Dirham: 10 dirhams
  • In-country processing fee: 500 dirhams

These fees are essential for processing and ensuring the smooth facilitation of visitor entry into the UAE.

In embracing these measures, the UAE continues to prioritize tourism as a cornerstone of its economic and cultural growth, offering visitors a blend of tradition, modernity, and unparalleled hospitality. Whether exploring its vibrant cities or serene landscapes, obtaining a visit visa is the first step towards an enriching journey in the heart of the Gulf.
