UAE 10-year Blue Visa: Know who can get it

Dubai: The United Arab Emirates is taking a bold step towards a greener future with the launch of the Blue Residency visa program.
This was approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, as he chaired the Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. He said the move comes in line with implementing the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who had announced 2024 as the Year of Sustainability. The initiative aims to attract leading environmental experts, researchers, and innovators to the UAE.
The Blue visa will be granted to individuals championing sustainability and the use of modern technologies in promoting the circular economy, and other relevant fields.

Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, hailed the Blue Residency as a major boost for the country's climate action efforts. Aligned with the UAE's Year of Sustainability and its ambitious Net Zero 2050 target, the program offers a 10-year residency visa to exceptional talent in the environmental field.
"The Blue Residency recognizes the efforts of individuals who contribute to enriching climate and environmental work in the UAE," Dr. Al Dahak said. This program not only strengthens the UAE's position as a global hub for sustainability but also shines a spotlight on its commitment to developing innovative solutions for a greener future.
