DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is experiencing a spell of unsettled weather, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issuing a forecast warning of dusty conditions, strong winds, and rough seas until early next week.
Residents are advised to stay alert, particularly in coastal areas, as visibility may reduce and marine activity remains risky due to turbulent sea states.
Daytime temperatures will peak between 32°C and 37°C, with humidity expected during morning hours across northern regions.
Thursday, 17 April
Today’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy, but dusty at intervals due to moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, which may reach up to 45 km/h. Blowing dust and sand are likely to reduce visibility in open areas. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will both experience rough to very rough sea conditions. Authorities have advised against swimming, diving, or venturing out for marine activities.
Friday, 18 April
Dusty weather will persist into Friday, with humidity expected in the early morning over northern inland areas. Winds will remain moderate to fresh, peaking at 40 km/h. Both seas will continue to be rough, maintaining the marine warning for a second consecutive day. Temperatures are expected to remain consistent with Thursday’s readings.
Saturday, 19 April
Saturday may bring morning fog or mist over northern inland regions. Skies will stay fair to partly cloudy throughout the day. Winds are forecast to blow at 10–25 km/h, occasionally reaching 40 km/h, stirring dust and sand. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be moderate to rough at intervals.
Sunday, 20 April
Humidity and potential fog or mist are predicted again in the north during early hours. A gradual rise in temperature is expected throughout the day. Winds will shift slightly, becoming light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly, reaching up to 30 km/h. The Arabian Gulf will be moderate to slight, and the Oman Sea slight.
Monday, 21 April
Monday will bring similar weather, with morning humidity lingering across northern inland zones. Temperatures will climb further, while skies remain mostly clear. Winds will continue at 10–25 km/h, occasionally touching 30 km/h. Both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are forecast to be slight, signalling a tapering of the earlier rough sea conditions.
