Honours at Sandhurst
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum achieved an extraordinary milestone at Sandhurst, being the first Emirati cadet to win both the prestigious International Sword, awarded to the best-performing international cadet, and the International Award for top overall results.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, attended the graduation alongside Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The event was presided over by General Sir Patrick Sanders, representing King Charles III.
Sandhurst, renowned for its military training excellence, has produced several Emirati leaders, including Sheikh Hamdan and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The academy combines rigorous military, academic, and practical training, fostering exceptional global leaders.
The Crown Prince expressed immense pride, stating, “Mohammed’s accomplishments inspire not only our family but also the youth of the UAE.” He also met with Emirati cadets at Sandhurst, praising their dedication to representing the UAE internationally.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s dual awards highlight the UAE’s growing presence on the global stage. His achievements mirror the legacy of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who graduated from Sandhurst in 1979 and played a pivotal role in modernising the UAE Armed Forces.
