Sharjah:  In the first six months of 20204, the Sharjah Airport welcomed over 8.3 million passengers, a significant 12.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth is mirrored in flight movements, which also saw a 12.2% rise to 52,702.

Sharjah Airport isn't just about passengers. Cargo handling operations have surged by an impressive 40.7%, reaching a total of 97,200 tons. Sea-air cargo operations also experienced healthy growth, increasing by 17.5% to 7,400 tons.

A gateway for economic activity

Sharjah Airport Authority Chairman, His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, attributes this success to the airport's role as a dynamic gateway for Sharjah's economic activity, tourism, and business sectors.

With a network of over 100 international destinations served by 26 airlines, including air cargo flights, Sharjah Airport connects the Emirates to global industrial and commercial markets. Recent additions like Greece and Poland via Air Arabia highlight this ongoing expansion.

This dedication fuels the airport's ambition to become a top 5 regional airport, supported by the ongoing new expansion project aiming to increase capacity to 25 million passengers annually by the end of 2027.
