DUBAI: The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has officially declared the Eid Al Fitr 2025 holiday schedule for the public sector.

Federal employees will have a break from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3, with work resuming on Shawwal 4. If Ramadan lasts 30 days, an additional holiday on Ramadan 30 will extend the break.

Moon sighting & Eid date

The UAE’s moon sighting committee will convene on March 29 to determine the start of Eid. If the crescent is seen, Eid Al Fitr will fall on March 30, giving public sector employees a four-day break from March 29 to April 1. If not, Ramadan will extend to 30 days, and Eid will begin on March 31, resulting in a five-day weekend from March 29 to April 2.

Six-day weekend for some

Sharjah’s public sector employees may receive an extended holiday, as Friday is their official weekend. If Eid begins on March 30, they will have a five-day break until April 1. If it falls on March 31, their holiday will last six days, concluding on April 2. The FAHR extended greetings to the UAE leadership and residents, wishing prosperity and well-being to all.
