SHARJAH: The Emirate of Sharjah is preparing to host the 35th edition of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2025, a highly anticipated annual event that blends shopping, cultural heritage, and community engagement.

Running from 22 February to 31 March, the festival is organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and will take place across all cities and regions of the emirate.

A significant highlight of the festival is its emphasis on authentic Emirati traditions, aligning with the Year of Community initiative. The event serves as a platform to promote social cohesion, support the retail sector, and enhance the tourism industry, making it one of the most important economic and cultural festivals in the UAE.

Exclusive Ramadan shopping

Throughout the month, visitors can look forward to exclusive shopping promotions, entertainment activities, and cultural events that reflect the spiritual essence of Ramadan. Shopping malls, commercial outlets, and local businesses will participate, offering attractive discounts and prize giveaways to create an exciting and festive atmosphere.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, highlighted the festival’s significance in boosting the emirate’s retail and business sectors. “The festival plays a vital role in strengthening Sharjah’s economic landscape, particularly the retail and tourism industries. It also fosters a deeper connection between businesses and the local community by providing unique shopping experiences and entertainment opportunities,” Al Awadi said.

The festival’s impact extends beyond Sharjah’s urban centres, reaching the central and eastern regions of the emirate. Shoppers can explore an array of discounted products from top international and local brands, making it a must-visit destination for residents and tourists alike.

Ramadan Nights

One of the key attractions of the festival is Ramadan Nights at Expo Centre Sharjah, an annual shopping and entertainment hub that draws over 150,000 visitors and hosts more than 200 exhibitors. With 500 international and local brands under one roof, Expo Centre’s Ramadan Nights offers an unparalleled retail experience, complete with cultural exhibits, interactive activities, and a variety of dining options.

Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, expressed confidence in the festival’s continued success.

“The Sharjah Ramadan Festival is one of the most awaited events of the year, bringing together families, businesses, and cultural enthusiasts. We are committed to ensuring each edition exceeds expectations and delivers memorable experiences for all,” Al Shamsi said.

Cultural events

Beyond shopping, the festival’s cultural and heritage-focused events will showcase traditional Emirati arts, crafts, and performances, fostering a deeper appreciation for the rich customs of the UAE. Religious programmes will also take centre stage, creating a spiritually enriching experience for visitors during the holy month.
