DUBAI: Parents in Dubai can now apply for digital birth certificates without visiting a customer service centre, thanks to a new initiative by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

The fully digital service allows applicants to receive an official birth certificate in Arabic, English, or Urdu within one working day.

The process begins when hospitals in Dubai submit the birth notification and required documents via an electronic system. Parents can then complete their application online, select the number of copies needed, and make payments electronically. The digital certificates are delivered via email or mobile phone, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.

Printed copies available

While the digital version is standard, parents can also request a printed birth certificate through a courier service. The DHA has ensured flexibility by maintaining in-person assistance for exceptional cases, available at the DHA’s Customer Happiness Centre.

Dr Ramadan Al Blooshi, Advisor to the Director-General of DHA, stated that the service reflects the authority’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and advancing Dubai’s digital transformation goals. He also highlighted that parents can apply for additional copies or request replacements for lost certificates. In such cases, applicants must submit a copy of the previous certificate, if available, or a police report for lost documents.

Dedicated support service

To assist parents, DHA has launched a dedicated support service via 800 DHA. This service provides instant guidance on application procedures, required documents, and delivery options. Payments can be made through electronic transactions, credit cards, or bank transfers, ensuring convenience at every step.
