The Hatta Winter Festival, running from 13 December 2024 to 22 January 2025, offers a dynamic blend of creativity, fitness, and cultural experiences, cementing Hatta’s position as a premier winter destination.
Organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, the festival serves as a cornerstone of the larger Hatta Winter initiative under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Spanning 40 days, the initiative invites residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the natural and cultural wonders of Hatta. The festival’s activities, set against the stunning mountainous backdrop, are designed to engage creative communities, fitness enthusiasts, and adventure lovers alike.
Creatives and Photography Walks
Among the festival’s standout events are the Creatives Walk and the Photographers Walk, two unique community-focused gatherings highlighting Hatta’s breathtaking landscapes.
The Creatives Walk, scheduled for 29 December 2024 and organised in collaboration with The Creatives Shop, brings together a diverse array of professionals—from videographers and photographers to illustrators and writers. Participants document their experiences through various artistic mediums, sharing their work on social media with dedicated hashtags to amplify Hatta’s charm.
Similarly, the Photographers Walk, taking place on 4 January 2025, offers photography enthusiasts an opportunity to capture Hatta’s natural beauty and vibrant community life. Organised in partnership with fotoUAE, the event includes mentorship from seasoned photographers, ensuring participants create compelling visual narratives that resonate with audiences.
Fitness adventures & Cultural activities
Fitness and adventure activities form another cornerstone of the festival. Open-air spin bike sessions, held on 4 and 11 January 2025 in collaboration with Padel and Fitness Hub 700, promise an invigorating experience with sessions at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. For those seeking a blend of intensity and relaxation, the festival features high-energy ‘Sport Hit’ workouts on 21 and 28 December 2024, followed by yoga sessions amidst the serene backdrop of Hatta Dam.
Adventure seekers can also indulge in exclusive horse riding experiences in collaboration with Yaazar Café. These rides offer visitors a unique way to explore Hatta’s picturesque landscapes while connecting with equestrian culture in a stable-inspired setting.
To enhance accessibility, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced the Hatta Express bus service, providing 14 daily trips directly from Dubai to Hatta. With over 1,100 parking spaces and 17 internal shuttle buses, visitors can easily navigate the event venue. Special buses even offer access to the top of Hatta Dam, ensuring seamless exploration.
Hatta Winter Festival
The Hatta Winter Festival is part of a broader initiative featuring four other festivals, each offering distinctive experiences. These include Hatta Cultural Nights, presented by Dubai Culture; the Hatta Honey Festival and the Hatta Agricultural Festival, both organised by Dubai Municipality; and Hatta x DSF, brought to life by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. Together, these events showcase Hatta’s cultural richness and natural beauty, catering to audiences of all ages.
