ABU DHABI: Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Yarmook hosted a grand reception during the 17th edition of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.
The event gathered senior defence officials, naval officers, and dignitaries from multiple nations.
Lieutenant General (r) Muhammad Chiragh Haider, Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence Production, attended as the chief guest.
The evening commenced with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by a dinner featuring traditional Pakistani cuisine. Guests praised the ship’s impeccable condition, with Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi remarking, “The ship was spick and span, and people were very happy.”
Ambassador Tirmizi underscored Pakistan’s longstanding contributions to the UAE Navy, stating, “Pakistan played a key role in building the UAE Navy. Many officers present today not only trained in Pakistan but also attended specialised courses there.”
He expressed his delight at PNS Yarmook’s participation in IDEX, calling the event a reflection of the strong ties between the two nations.
The Commanding Officer of PNS Yarmook highlighted Pakistan Navy’s crucial role in ensuring maritime security across the Indian Ocean. The reception welcomed high-profile attendees, including Chief of Staff of the National Guard, Brigadier Rashid, UAE Navy representatives, and senior naval officers from allied countries.
