Dubai’s key metro station renamed under landmark RTA-Al Fardan partnership
Exclusive agreement enhances passenger engagement through smart solutions

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially signed an agreement with Al Fardan Exchange, granting the company exclusive naming rights for Al Khail Metro Station.
This move will see the station rebranded as Al Fardan Exchange Metro Station, reinforcing the brand’s visibility among Dubai Metro’s extensive commuter network.
The initiative aligns with RTA’s broader strategy of fostering dynamic public-private partnerships that contribute to economic growth and service sector development.
The agreement offers Al Fardan Exchange a significant branding opportunity within one of Dubai’s busiest transit hubs. By leveraging state-of-the-art digital solutions and innovative engagement strategies, the financial services provider aims to create a seamless and interactive brand experience for metro passengers.
Public-private synergy
Abdul Muhsen Kalbat, CEO of the Rail Agency at RTA, highlighted the significance of the agreement, describing it as a vital step in enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors. He noted that Dubai’s metro station naming rights initiative has been instrumental in driving economic diversification while strengthening private-sector participation in national development.

“Our visionary government strongly supports such collaborations to propel economic progress. RTA remains dedicated to forming robust partnerships that encourage knowledge-sharing, expertise exchange, and job creation across multiple industries,” Kalbat stated.
Al Fardan Exchange CEO Hasan Fardan Al Fardan echoed this sentiment, expressing pride in associating the company with Dubai Metro. “As a company deeply rooted in Emirati heritage, this partnership embodies our commitment to innovation and community engagement. Public transport serves as the backbone of modern cities, and Dubai’s metro system is a prime example of advanced urban mobility,” he remarked.

Enhancing passenger experience
With millions of daily commuters relying on the metro network, Al Fardan Exchange aims to use this strategic positioning to further connect with its customers. The partnership will facilitate immersive brand experiences through cutting-edge technology and smart solutions integrated into the metro environment.
“Through this initiative, we can enhance passenger interactions while offering seamless financial services that align with their needs. Our goal is to add value to the metro experience while strengthening our legacy of serving the community,” Al Fardan added.

RTA has also confirmed that updates to metro station signages, both indoor and outdoor, will take place between April and the end of June 2025. The name change will be reflected across digital platforms, mobile applications, and onboard metro announcements to ensure a smooth transition for commuters.
Passengers are encouraged to take note of the new station name and may seek assistance from RTA staff at metro stations for further information.
