ABU DHABI: The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has expanded its Sanadkom initiative to offer comprehensive support to all residents of the emirate.
The initiative, which was originally launched to assist the families of deceased citizens, now extends its services to the entire population, covering all death-related procedures with a streamlined, compassionate approach.
In the face of loss, Sanadkom aims to alleviate the burden of administrative procedures. Families of the deceased can now complete all required tasks – obtaining death certificates, arranging for burial, or preparing the deceased for repatriation – through a unified process.
Following a death notice, the Sanadkom team reaches out promptly to offer condolences and detailed information about the services available, ensuring families receive immediate assistance during this challenging time.
Comprehensive coverage for all residents
Through a strategic partnership with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an, the initiative ensures that all fees related to death certificates, ambulance services, embalming, and repatriation are fully covered for Abu Dhabi residents. This initiative marks a significant step in easing the emotional and financial stress of losing a loved one.
Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Customer Experience and Relation Sector at DoH, commented, “Guided by the directives of our wise leadership, we continue to enhance services that cater to the diverse needs of our community. The Sanadkom initiative not only simplifies the necessary procedures but also provides a much-needed compassionate approach during a challenging time for families.”
Unified services
The Sanadkom initiative unites seven government entities to offer seamless services. These include the DoH, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, and Al Ain Distribution Company. Together, they form an integrated system that ensures all procedures related to death are handled efficiently and respectfully.
Sanadkom initiative
Since its launch in January 2024, the initiative has already successfully assisted families in completing their required processes with minimal stress. Saeed Al Mulla, Executive Director of the Customer Experience Sector at the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, remarked, “The success of Sanadkom underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between governmental bodies, delivering exceptional support to the community during a time of need.”
