Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been named the world’s safest city for the ninth consecutive year, according to Numbeo’s 2025 report.

Ranking first among 382 cities worldwide, the accolade underscores the emirate’s relentless efforts in ensuring safety and security for its citizens, residents, and visitors.

The achievement reflects Abu Dhabi's commitment to fostering a secure environment through pioneering strategies and innovative technologies.

The city’s continued emphasis on safety has bolstered its reputation as a desirable destination to live, work, and study.

Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoun Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, credited this accomplishment to the integration of advanced artificial intelligence and smart systems. These measures have enhanced professionalism and improved public safety standards across the emirate.

A unified approach

The emirate’s success is largely attributed to the unwavering support of its leadership. The government’s comprehensive security strategy has strengthened police capabilities while ensuring long-term stability. “Our wise leadership’s vision has made Abu Dhabi a global beacon of safety and progress,” Al Muhairi remarked.

He further emphasised the importance of fostering community trust. Through proactive measures, collaboration, and innovative crime-prevention systems, Abu Dhabi Police remain committed to maintaining the emirate’s position as a global leader in public safety.
