UAE: Dubai is set to enhance its educational landscape with the launch of 39 new private schools, nurseries, and universities for the upcoming academic year, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced. This ambitious expansion will introduce over 16,000 additional seats across the emirate’s private education sector, offering a range of fee options to accommodate diverse needs.
Diverse curriculum offerings
Among the highlights of this educational boom are five new UK curriculum schools:
-
Dubai British School Jumeirah
-
GEMS Founders School Dubai South
-
New Dawn Private School in Muhaisnah
-
Hampton Heights International School in Twar
-
Springfield International School in Al Aweer
Adding to the mix, the French curriculum will be represented by the opening of Lycée Francais Jean Mermoz South in Al Barsha South.
Early childhood centres and higher education growth
The early childhood education sector is also set for a significant boost, with 29 new early childhood centres coming online. This includes seven ECCs that have already opened in June and July, featuring a variety of curriculums including Dubai’s first Chinese curriculum ECC. Most new ECCs will offer the UK’s early years foundation stage curriculum.
On the higher education front, Dubai will welcome four new KHDA-licensed institutions in the 2024-25 academic year:

SKEMA Business School (France)
-
Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (Russia)
-
Symbiosis International University (India)
-
Neohorizon School of Business, a UAE-China collaboration, offering a specialized master’s degree in business.
A vision for a brighter future
Aisha Miran, Director-General of KHDA, shared her enthusiasm about the expansion, and the statement is quoted by different publications, “These new schools, early childhood centers, and higher education institutions represent more than just numbers. They embody our commitment to creating rich educational opportunities for our children and youth. We are dedicated to bolstering Dubai’s reputation as a global education hub and ensuring that every student benefits from top-tier education in an environment that fosters their potential and prepares them for future success.”
