Indian badminton star PV Sindhu also extended warm wishes, saying, “Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.” Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao joined the chorus with a heartfelt message in Hindi.

Neeraj Chopra’s rise

Chopra’s rise to fame began with his historic gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, where he became the first Asian javelin thrower to achieve the feat. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, he further cemented his legacy with a silver medal, recording a throw of 88.13m in the finals.

On the professional front, Chopra is spearheading the first-ever Continental Tour Javelin-Only competition in India, scheduled for May 2025. Backed by World Athletics and the Athletics Federation of India, the event aims to attract top javelin talent worldwide.

“I have always dreamed of organising a world-class javelin competition in India,” Chopra stated, adding that he hopes the event becomes a staple in the global athletics calendar.
